Relationship-based Education means knowing the whole child, inclusive of the psychological, emotional, social/interpersonal, physical, and spiritual nature of the child. In this small book, we outline key components of Relationship-based Education that are essential for every teacher and parent to engage when teaching children. Each section contains a description and definition of very important aspects of Relationship-based education including: relationships with children, holistic child development, relational teachers, teacher’s self-knowledge, what facilitates learning and experiential learning. These sections and more are intended inspire by taking us from subject-centered teaching to student-centered education. There are also sections on the biology of love and the role of parents in Relationship-based Education.There are no techniques prescribed in this small book because true knowledge involves authentic relationships of love and care (heart) in balance with knowledge formation (head).
