Reglas Mexicanas, to some extent, is based on factual events and focuses on the Mexican war on drugs and illicit trafficking trade from the perspective of those actually involved. The book highlights the personal issues faced by the Mexican police, the corruption and hypocrisy of the US government and the culture and reasons that attract people to crime and the Narco lifestyle.
