The Discipline of Time in a Christ-Centered Life
Time is the most precious resource God gives to humanity. Unlike money, health, or possessions, time cannot be stored, regained, or replaced once it is gone. Every tick of the clock is a gift from God and a step closer to eternity. Scripture emphasizes this truth repeatedly. Psalm 90:12 prays, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Paul exhorts in Ephesians 5:16, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” To waste time is to squander one of the greatest trusts God has given; to redeem time is to use each moment for His glory.
A Christ-centered life requires discipline in time because without it, even good intentions fail. Prayer, study, fellowship, work, and every other discipline depend on how time is managed. Time is the soil in which all other disciplines grow. Neglect time, and everything else withers. Steward time faithfully, and life flourishes.
