Review of Red by S.J. Sanders

This book was the first book of a retold Grimms tale that I have read so intently. I could not put this book down! The characters were so well written, that I felt I knew them. The narrator voice was very soothing and pleasant to really listen to. S.J. Sanders was descriptive, but not overly so. The story flowed, and did not make listening a chore or burden to listen to. Very enjoyable!

Loved the concept, great character and world building. sexy time with aliens with multiple phallic protrusions was yummy... reverse harem.

Great story

I loved it. Great concept and follow through. I really hope that the author continues this into a series. Definitely recommend this book. Well worth the credit.

I loved it but then was so upset - nothing is missing!

I loved everything about this story, the characters, the adventure, the romance - and the steamy scenes :-)! But then I read someone’s review before leaving mine- that something was missing in chapter 27. I was so upset so I bought the kindle book and read it. Nothing at all was missing. Some people are just never happy and want to cause trouble because they are so miserable themselves.. The Story Red is wonderful. I’m going to send an email to Audible about this - it’s just not right.

I'm surprised how much I liked this

Re-readable story! I usually don't care for fairytail re-imaginings, since I usually think you should leave children stories alone, but this was truly just inspired by, not literal with a few aliens thrown in. The story has some really cool characters that I didn't expect too, other than the Rigoru . I like how the narrator and author worked together to make this interesting story that just does so well taking you on a "not too complicated" ride, instead of just going on and on for 12 hours. The narrator's voice is odly soothing too, like its hard to just tear yourself away from his story telling. I can also tell the difference in voices of ALL the characters which makes the story even better. There's even some hot sexy time in here! Very refreshing adult paranormal romance.

Great story!

I really enjoyed this story. It's a great flip of the traditional Red Ridding Hood. I loved the tenderness and the openness of the characters.

Amazing worldview!

I lived the world building in this book. It was amazing and sucked you in. I was just as interested in this world as I was the plot.

The twist on little red riding hood was super interesting along with the corruption of religion.

I kind of wished there had been more books and to see both humans and aliens come together.

This is most definitely one if the more memorable books I've listened to in a while.

Wonderful and Thrilling Romantic Adventure. Hot

I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m so glad I spent a credit on Red. It was well written with deep and loveable characters set in a simple yet very unforgiving world. It was romantic - loving - adventurous- exciting - joyful - sad - and So much more. I was impressed and pulled in and could not stop listening. The Narrator- Luca Frost - was charming and colorful - and skillful with each character. I just loved him. There are some very steamy and arousing scenes for sure but the book is not filled from cover to cover with them. There is a great story here and you will at many times forget you are reading a romance. I highly recommend this wonderful Audiobook. It is well worth the credit. - Jen
