The Civil war began in 1861. Thousands of young men went to war, many not even understanding the why of it, but all determined to fight for the cause. whatever the hell that meant. Many came back broken, or were carried off dead because it was that kind of war.
But there were those of low moral character who did not believe in either side, and deserted. But their only occupation was bandits, killers and worse. But now, they, too, were well trained.
Sergeant Wilheim Miller came home a hero, injured, having never fully understood how he even signed up. But he did his job well and he remained proud. The day he returned home he found what was left of his ranch, his family and nearly his sanity.
But then, suddenly, he had a goal. He would find those animals put them down. All of them. Call it retribution.
