WRONG NARRATOR
Although the title makes one think this is a biography about a British queen, the subject matter is actually about major EVENTS that changed world history during her REIGN. Therefore the material - full of facts and statistics - is dry and boring. Not a deal breaker IF this was in the hands of a master narrator like one of "The Simons” - Vance ‘N’ Prebble! Melissa Thompson’s voice is more suited to historical fiction novels by Allison Weir or Philippa Gregory about female royals . For this book, Thompson’s tone is just too light and youthful. In addition, she narrates way too fast, making her difficult to understand. She also mispronounces many words and her frivolous delivery takes key points out of context. After 2 hours and several chapters in, I still had no idea what she was talking about. The best alternate use of this audiobook for me was as a sleep aid. I think I will just try the print version.
