News of the coronavirus hits New York City, and LA-native Jade is stuck dog-sitting in her best friend’s Brooklyn apartment. Her bestie, Zora, is on her honeymoon in the Maldives and may now be stuck there, too. The island has canceled all flights. Only God knows when Zora will return and Jade can fly back to LA.

Then Zora’s brother, Kamal, shows up with his bags and proclaims that he’s temporarily moving in, which is odd because he has his own luxury condo in Manhattan. Something’s clearly happened with him and his girlfriend.

As the global pandemic ravages the world, Kamal and Jade become coronavirus roommates in Zora’s one-bedroom apartment. Each day brings unique challenges for the pair while they navigate the new normal. Although they have to deal with bumps in the road, they quickly figure out that as long as they have each other, they can handle anything. Plus, there are many steamy ways to pass the time!

Loved the storyline; packed with drama, some comedy, love, sex, and sadness. Traditional Indian wedding was very descriptive. Lacy Laurel’s voice cracks me up; the narrators were perfect for this book and brought life to the characters. Will add this one to my favorites. Good job Kenya!

Pretty good

I loved this in ebook! Audio was even better but it made me realize how heavy handed the Covid-19 related terms were. Still an amazing read though!

Re-read for audio!

The story is enjoyable but the female narration sounds like a bad rendition of Mae West ( an very old actress ). So this may turn you off of the audio but the story is worth reading.. I enjoy this writer style of writing ,she's always thinking outside the box you never receive the same story over and over. Always something new and refreshing..

Unfortunately the female narrator isn't the best

Once I stared reading it, I couldn’t stop. It .was great and so funny the characters were funny as hell. And I really like how you get a great understanding of the various cultures..

I wasn’t sure about this story

This story had its ups and downs for me! I found myself fast forwarding some parts because it got boring at times then picked back up and had my attention. Lacy laurel was extremely hard to listen too as she is in other books she definitely had me fast forwarding through her parts often. Something about her accent and voice are extremely annoying. Not one of Kenya’s better books but the fact that it centered around the recent pandemic made for a interesting story. Definitely would pick different narrators for future books.

Good story
