Bad reviews are not warranted

I almost didn’t pick this one even tho it’s free because some said the narrator was bad, some said the story was bad, someone said both. Glad I decided to go with my gut. Character developments were stellar, the storyline was easy to follow and still kept me guessing. I will look for this author again

Amanda’s character

The story itself was ok. The character of Amanda was so intensely annoying that I almost stopped listening a few times.

LISTEN AT 1.2X SPEED

I have NO IDEA why this has lower ratings. The character is erratic so turn up the listening speed. This helps with her characteristics & if you dont like the narrator this also helps. I always do this!!! I thought the narrator did amazing. There was 90s nostalgia, chills, chuckles & tears. Some of it very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will save it to listen again & again. Trust me and I'm picky! It WAS really good!

Don’t know why… but I expected more given what was layed out in initial chapters

For me, it was a let down… part of me really hated the main character & I think it had to do with the narration. But I felt a spooky ambiance dosed out in pieces thru first half+ but it never escalated to anything parallel to the lead-up. End was a huge disappointment…big old “meh” to this & it leaves me leery of other works from the author. But… judge for yourselves!
