The Gospel of Luke is featured in the liturgical cycle every three years but scholars are daily finding new treasures in this inspired writing. From Zachariah’s vision in the temple, the Passion, death and resurrection, Sr. Reid brings a fresh viewpoint on all the episodes and parables we think we know so well. This presentation will enrich the most informed listener and will renew in preachers and teachers an enthusiasm for this magnificent gift of the spirit, the Gospel of Luke. Immediately after hearing this program, the listener will feel like reading the Gospel from beginning to end and be on fire to share its unique story. Sr. Reid invites the listener to notice how the marginalized and the poor play such a large role in the story of Jesus. She challenges the listener to question what is it to be a preacher, a catechist, an evangelizer, a lecturer, and a minister of the Eucharist or a faithful hearer of the word in the pews every Sunday. She points out that the image of Jesus as prophet occurs more in Luke’s Gospel then any other gospel.
