Class would be different this semester. Clara was going to be sure of that. Her new life at Crossedlake made her feel happier and more at home than anywhere else, regardless of the tragedies that had happened.

Although she felt strange after her encounter with the god of another realm, she still felt confident and ready for anything. Her confidence was knocked down a peg when she was thrust into the path of death on her first day of school, barely surviving thanks to a strange creature she promptly forgot about when she returned to the real world. Choosing necromancy as your specialization wasn't a light decision, and she would find that out quickly.

The path of death was terrifying and unforgiving, but nothing Clara couldn't handle. With Mrs. Omega teaching her, she quickly learned the ropes and became comfortable on the path. As comfortable as one can get in a world of death and the undead, anyway.

Clara was strong and adaptable, and with her friends by her side, she felt like she could handle anything thrown at her. However, life has a funny way of going off the rails at a moment's notice. When the sixth stranger calls upon her much sooner than she expected to complete her promise, she's horrified by the request and determined to find a way out of it.

Promises Kept (Crossedlake University Book 3) ~ This was my favorite of the three. It had the heart, the action, and the payoff I was waiting for. Clara goes into this semester with a new sense of determination, but it doesn’t take long for reality to test her again. What stood out most was how much Clara had grown since Book 1—she’s no longer just trying to survive, she’s fighting to protect what she loves. The relationships feel deeper here, especially with her friends and allies, and I found myself rooting for them through every twist. Without spoiling too much, this book hits you with tragedy, loyalty, and the kind of promises that cost dearly to keep. The ending gave me that bittersweet mix of closure and curiosity, like maybe the story isn’t over just yet. I absolutely loved the book and I listened to the audible book.  I am not a fan of virtual voice, but this one is not bad.  Definitely recommend this series !! 

✨ Overall Series Impression: If you like university settings with a supernatural/mystery twist, strong character growth, and a story that keeps you turning pages late at night, the Crossedlake University series is worth it. Each book and audible book gets better, and Clara is the kind of heroine you can’t help but cheer for, even when the world keeps throwing impossible challenges at her.
