Adapted by Christina Calvit. A 2012 recording of Christina Calvit’s stage adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The dour Mr. Darcy is anything but popular with the Bennets, especially when he fancies a member of their clan. And as Elizabeth reluctantly deals with Mr. Darcy’s advances, their romance seems destined to fail. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set the standard for romantic comedies when it debuted in 1813, and it still speaks to audiences worldwide through countless adaptations.

Pacing was extremely fast it felt like the entire cast was having an anxiety attack. This adaptation is not nearly as strong as her other adaptation also available on audible. However this version of Mr Darcy is much stronger for a voice actor not certain they were produced for voice drama.

Loved Mr Darcy's voice, but even that doesn't make this worth listening to again.

I can’t imagine why the director would ever think constant irritating laughter would be a good idea. It was distracting, annoying, & totally out of sync with the story. This is supposed to be a love story NOT a slapstick comedy. I never thought I would ever hate my favorite novel but I was wrong. This ridiculous version is not just disappointing, it is ludicrous & totally annoying.

More than Disappointing it’s stupid & ANNOYING
