Acerca de esta escucha

Consequences of poverty are well pronounced all over the world. About 705 million people live at the poverty line of “international $” 1.90 a day in 2015worldwide. According to the estimates of United Nations Food and Agriculture organization (FAO), about 795 million people of the 7.3 billion people in the world or one in nine suffering from chronic undernourishment in 2014-2016. United Nations reported, about 21,000 people die every day due to hunger or related causes. FAO finds about 60% of the victims of hunger are women. Annually 3.5 million of children die from acute malnutrition all over the world. Just a few hundred millionaires now own as much wealth as world’s poorest 2.5 billion people and about one third of the global food production is lost or wasted every year. Poverty and third world debt caused resource stripping just for the survival or pay off debts. E.g. Nepal and Bangladesh have experienced disasters such as devastating floods which are believed to be resulting as a result of large scale deforestation. Rapid increase in population in poor countries and degradation of top soil has created an uncertainty in the production of food for all. Researchers in USA have found that the death rate of people affected by infectious diseases remain the same between 1980 and 2014 in the United States. Sedentary lifestyle increases the prevalence of non-communicable diseases. It is mentioned in the UNICEF report 2016 “unless the world tackles inequity today, in 2030 about 167 million will live in poverty, 69 million children under age five will die between 2016 and 2030, and 60 million children of primary school age will be out of school”. It is strongly believed that the developed nations must allocate more funds to eradicate the poverty and hunger and ensure biosecurity, biosafety and healthcare in poor countries.
