Addictions and 2nd Chances!

I really enjoyed this story when I read the book.
The narrator Stevi Incremona did a wonderful job with voicing all the characters. Jace & Oakley’s story is not an easy story to tell but they work thru the hurt, lies, trust & then love. A very unique story about a tough subject that most have experienced at one time. Great story by Melissa Toppen & great narration by Stevi Incremona.

Real life love

I enjoyed this read because it dealt with real life issues and not just a fairy tale. Yes many of us enjoy the fairy tale but it is more relatable and heartfelt when one can relate to the story being told.
I look forward to more titles by Melissa Toppen.

Poison & Wine

Addiction is hard and consuming and this book shows that perfectly. The struggles that have to be fought and overcome are hard and will be a lifetime battles, but luckily he has the right person to help him overcome when he is finally ready to fight. I really liked this book and all the emotions it brought out of me while listening.

Beautiful Second Chance Romance

I absolutely loved this story! It isn’t often that you get to read a book that deals with addiction and the aftermath of the choices a character makes during the lowest time in their life. Jace’s road to recovery isn’t easy, especially when he’s left a wake of broken promises to the only girl he has ever loved. Now clean and ready for a second chance, Jace is determined to make amends for his past and reclaim his girl.
Oakley may have moved on physically but mentally and emotionally, her heart has always belonged to her first love, Jace. With him back in town and in her life, Oakley has to make one of the hardest decisions of her life. Can she forgive Jace for a past that has broken her trust in him and if she does, will she ever be able to trust him again?

This story was so good. It will hit you right in the feels. For anyone who has ever dealt with addiction or has someone in their family struggling with addiction, this story will definitely hit close to home.

I listened to this on audiobook and it was my first time hearing Stevi Incremona. She really did an amazing job telling this story. This book is told in dual POV; however, the narrator tells both Jace and Oakley’s POV and honestly does an incredible job!!

Beautiful and Heartbreaking!!

Wow!! I just finished listening to the audible book Poison and Wine by Melissa Toppen and it was such a beautiful and heartbreaking story about Oakley and Jace. They were in love with each other since around 10. It was a very hard road for the both of them due to Jace's addiction as they got older. I could really feel the pain and heartache of each character as their story got told. It was very sad and heartbreaking at times to listen to it, but there was also a sliver of hope too. I loved the narration of the story. She did a wonderful job doing all the different characters. I really hoped that Jace and Oakley would get a second chance with each other. I received an ARC of this audio and would so highly recommend listening to it. It was a wonderful story about getting a second chance in life and love. Truly wonderful!!!
