Poets had always lived there, the locals claimed. As Sadie and her daughter, Betty, work to uncover the truth, strange events begin to occur in the cottage. And as the terrible secret in the cellar threads its way into the present day, it reveals a truth more shocking than the decades-long rumours. Poet’s Cottage is a beautiful and haunting mystery of families, bohemia, truth, creativity, lies, memory, and murder.

Uneven but held my interest

Concept was interesting and most of the story held my interest. However, it seemed to drag in spots and the ending just seemed not to fit the rest of the story. The whole book held supernatural elements that ran through the whole book until the end. There are two time periods and both were handled very well - there was no confusion as to which period you were in. Somehow though when it was over I felt that there were unanswered questions.

Gripping from beginning to end. Beautifully read.
It transports you to place and time, not wanting to leave.
