Laurel will do anything to save her Santorini inn from the powerful Damon family, and that includes manipulating Andrew Damon, the man they’ve sent to get her off the property. Andrew might have a reputation for being irresistible to women, but she won’t have any problem resisting him. This is war, after all, and the Damons drew their weapons first.
Andrew has spent most of his life chasing women and wasting time, but he’s determined to do his duty by his family, even if that means ousting an infuriating (and gorgeous) widow from the inn that legally belongs to the Damons. He doesn’t expect to fall for her. And he definitely doesn’t expect to discover that he’s been played.

Annoying, frustrating and just not what I expected

I first listened to SEDUCING THE ENEMY – book 1 (about Andrew’s brother Harrison) and loved it, but PLAYING THE PLAYBOY surpasses that by another level. Andrew and Laurel are good people who fit well together in terms of who they are today and their hopes for the future. Their chemistry and passion were lovely as they unfolded on the page. The build up to the climactic events that could make or break their relationship was brilliantly executed. My own heart broke when the metaphoric maelstrom blew into their idyllic cocoon of love. The intensity of the feelings evoked by the turbulence is something not many authors can create. I loved it, and the way it resolved. What a beautiful romance.
This is my favourite Noelle Adams novel so far, and I’ve read several. I’ll be back for more.
Narrator Angela Dawe is masterful in her characterisations. She utilises a sweet voice for Laurel, a convincing male sounding voice for Andrew and different voices for other characters. Additionally, she uses her own voice for the narrative/non-dialogue parts of the story. When the characters from books 1 and 2 meet, the voices she used in SEDUCING THE ENEMY are consistent and distinct. Ms Dawe is truly talented and speaks with emotion, the right inflection and excellent timing. I love her narrating style. She definitely can elevate the "reading" experience of any book. For me, she was magic in PLAYING THE PLAYBOY. Unfortunately, she only narrates the first 2 books in this series.
I highly recommend this novel, especially in the Audible format for the second-to-none narration.
Incredibly emotional - in a good way.

Our heroine is hard working , no charity taking type of gal. Our hero is just plain fun at heart. Another great performance by Ms Dawe. All her accents are so spot on. This story has a special place in my heart, as I too got to spend a vacation on Santorini a few clicks from the town of Oia. Yes the cliff side hotels are as picturesque as this author writes. Lots of cats to give you comfort during a terrace breakfast. And Yes, every breakfast has Greek yogurt. The Greek have the best genuine hospitality in the world.
This story rates a second listen. I do use the 1.2 speed as it puts you right there on the high cliffs of Greece.
Were my comments of help?
