If you're looking for an audiobook that does more than just tell you how to swing a golf club, Play Golf Better Faster delivers—and then some. Kalliope Barlis's voice as a narrator (assuming she reads it herself) brings a calm, confident tone that aligns beautifully with the book’s core philosophy: performance is as much about the mind as it is the mechanics. Her delivery is measured and encouraging, which really enhances the mental exercises rooted in NLP techniques. Listening to her guide you through visualization and anchoring routines feels almost like a live coaching session.

The audiobook format works especially well for the structure of this book. With practical drills and meditative cues, it’s easy to pause, reflect, and try out the techniques in real time—whether you're on the driving range or taking a walk. The narration never rushes, and the clarity with which each concept is explained helps even complex psychological strategies feel accessible. If you’re the type of golfer who thrives with a coach in your ear and prefers learning on the move, this is a must-listen. It’s not a swing tutorial—it’s a mindset shift, and the narration plays a huge role in that transformation.

The Audible version of Play Golf Better Faster by Kalliope Barlis amplifies the book’s already powerful message with clear, engaging narration that makes the content highly accessible. Barlis's enthusiasm and expertise come through naturally in the audio format, allowing listeners to fully absorb her insights on both the mental and physical aspects of golf. The pacing is well-balanced, giving listeners time to process key concepts while seamlessly following along with the practical exercises. Her delivery maintains a motivating and confident tone, which enhances the effectiveness of the book’s focus on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and mental resilience.

One of the strongest aspects of the narration is how well it aligns with the book’s structured approach. The explanations of visualization techniques, anchoring positive experiences, and overcoming mental barriers are delivered with clarity, making them easy to understand and apply both on and off the golf course. Since many of the exercises require hands-on practice, some listeners may find it helpful to follow along with a physical or digital copy for reference. Overall, the audiobook serves as a valuable resource for golfers looking to enhance their game, with Barlis’s engaging and authoritative delivery reinforcing the book’s core principles in a way that keeps listeners motivated and focused.

I have to start by saying the author's account of playing semi pro golf seemed a little off. There's no record of her that I could find on the LPGA. I may be wrong, but something seems fraudulent about the autobiographical backstory.

The actual golf advice in here is capital T tedious. it's not entirely without merit, but it's very repetitive and not very mind-blowing.

if you're paying an Audible credit for a female-led, highly accredited book of short, straightforward, and easily applicable golf advice for all ages men and women, you are exponentially better off with "Be a Player" by Pia Nillson and co. Dr Bob Rotella titles (specifically "Golf is Not a Game of Perfect" would be a viable second pick.

Way Better Golf Philosophy Out There, Possibly Outright Fraudulent
