Having been abandoned by the crew of the Felspar and then arrested for piracy, James Stone never expected to find himself on a university ship full of beautiful women or called upon to protect one of them from his friend, Bulsar. Unfortunately, becoming a bodyguard has had its downsides too, not least the jealousy of a Sagan student and an attempt on his life while staying on Arroba. However, while in Faam’s company, he has learnt a great deal more about the spheres of Evigone – including the fact the Lords of Wuminger, builders of the constellation, have not interfered in the activities of its people for decades. With his work as a bodyguard complete, and unable to see Faam to explain why he slept with Taylia, James Stone hopes the Cissoid’s arrival on the holiday planet of Agnatha will offer new possibilities.
