In 1948 Ruth Lastuvka took first place in a contest, and out of nearly 3000 other beautiful contestants she became the first “Miss Calendar Girl of America”. In 1991, at age 67, she set out on her first horseback safari across the flat grasslands of Kenya. Now in her 90’s she continues to create lovely ceramic pieces and paintings that depict even more of the productive soul that she has been for nearly a century. There is never a dull moment for Ruth.
