I downloaded this book as a refresher on Phonological Awareness with the intention of having a recap of the different elements (phonetics, phonemes, graphemes, blending, segmenting, consonant blends, diphthongs). This book was like listening to a high school essay where every paragraph is practically the same, just with the words in different orders. It was the most base level, repetitive, uninformative book on phonological awareness. I tried to get through it all but after hearing the same 3-4 *key sentences to the author* at least 50 times, in every paragraph, in every chapter, it was so redundant I couldn’t finish it. Genuinely, if you searched “what are the elements of phonological awareness in early childhood education” into google, the Google AI produces a more in depth, informative, and educational synopsis in 3 paragraphs than this book does in 2 hours.
