Resumen del Editor

The Chippewa shaman No-Eyes shares her wisdom and perspective on life. No-Eyes sits in her humble Colorado cabin, offering startling but compelling visions of the future, including some upheavals on the horizon. Listening intently to her teacher and new friend, Summer Rain learns about the unique relationship between the Earth Mother and the many creatures in her domain. Phoenix Rising is a one-of-a-kind listening experience, as noted actress Nancy Fish conveys the beauty and tradition of the Chippewa people - and our remarkable guide, the blind, solitary visionary, No-Eyes. Pheonix Rising is the second volume in the No-Eyes tetralogy that includes Spirit Song, Dreamwalker, and Phantoms Afoot.

Indigenous Peoples lore and visioning

The audio quality wasn’t the best but the story is very prescient. If you read much literature from native peoples this story is in keeping with vision quests and shaman.

good

Loved the material. But I was disappointed by the narration. Could have gotten someone who sounded less like Joan Rivers. It would have been more enjoyable.

Awesome ! Except for the narration

Would you consider the audio edition of Phoenix Rising to be better than the print version?

No, don't care for the narrators voice. Its whiny and grating

Who was your favorite character and why?

No Eyes

What didn’t you like about Nancy Fish’s performance?

I don't like her whiny voice. She sounds like Joan Rivers and I don't like her voice either.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole book is very moving, thought provoking and of great interest to me.

Phoenix rising

I found the story to be inane. I understand that it is supposed to be spiritual and profettic, but those are things anyone with any sense can figure out. I think me biggest problem is the way the author made the wise woman sound like an ideot and there is very little story to support the narrative
