What makes it the most enjoyable is the feeling it gives you of being right there with the band as they grow from a quirky college band to a wildly adventurous arena rock band capable of drawing tens of thousands of fans to rural upstate Maine for multi-faceted art events. Phish has always fostered a unique, inclusive relationship with their fans. This book elaborates and expands on that phenomenon.
To sum it up: it's just a lot of fun to read/listen to.
My chief complaint is the narrator. I've heard him narrate other books before and he always does this weird whisper-speak thing, like he's Deep Throat explaining some elaborate government conspiracy to you under a bridge somewhere. It's incredibly aggravating (just speak like a normal person! ...or at least a normal narrator), and tonally incongruous with the light-hearted, fun nature of the band/text. So my recommendation is to listen carefully to the sample first. If you can get past it (as I did), then go for it and enjoy the book. I'm here to tell you it's possible. If you can't get past the lame narrator (which is understandable), buy the book and read it old-school style. It's worth it.
Bottom line: if you're a fan of the band, you'll dig this book.
