This story delivers

Buda delivers the blood and suspense horror readers crave. The climax had more can't-look-away moments of tension and gore than I can count. Looking forward to reading more of the series!

great story

A thriller that shows what some will do in order to get to the top. The ending will leave you reaching for the next book in the series. A twisted suspense filled story!!!

Poor Narrator

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected my opinion of the book, or the content of my review.

Though I enjoyed the plot line of the book, the poor sound quality and narrator negatively impacted my overall opinion. I hope the author selects a different performer for his next project.

Brilliant suspense

I enjoyed the plotline and suspense from the beginning in 'Pay up and Die' and it had me captivated throughout the story.

Michael is a husband and father living an ordinary life, except that he has a very sick dauhgter who needs lifesaving treatment. His mind twirls around his financial situation and how to come up with the money for his daughters surgery. Michael is having nightmares and feels guilty about not being able to save his daughters life. He sees no other option than to take out a another loan. He's now entering a world he'd never imagined.

This is a story that will have you sitting on the edge and it's brilliantly well-written and well-plotted. The story takes a lot of twists and turns and you'll just wish that money didn't exist. It's a dark story and takes some horror twists along the way. Furthermore, the story is very believable and matches what we've heard/read about from the underworld.

The narrator Justin R. Beaudry disappointed me though. He was very monotone in his reading and reading was what he did. I wished for a more lively performance and was about to give up on the story many times. If it wasn't for my curiosity of how this story would turn out, I had dished this book from the 2nd chapter. There are also production issues and I wish new authors in audiobooks would research more about the importance of good narration/production. Poor narration can always break the best story.

Where does Pay Up and Die rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I just started audio books but I am really enjoying them. This was my 5th audio book and definitely moved itself quickly to the top of my list.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Michael Wright...he is the main character and a likable guy. You feel for what he goes through and just can't help to root for him.

Have you listened to any of Justin R. Beaudry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to Justin before but think he did a great job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I can't tell my favorite part because I don't want to give anything away, but there are lots of great parts.

Title says it all

If your not a fan of psycho murder than this book isn't for you, but if you love that type than keep reading. Gives one a new outlook on banks and loans and not making your payments than they call the debt collector. Great story but rest assured I will not be taking out a loan any time soon.
