Fantasy at its best

Angela. has a talent for making her stories come alive! This is no exception as her narrator, Racquel, has an excellent voice that she uses to show the emotions of the characters along with listener being able to distinguish which characters are talking.
I can’t wait to listen to the next installment in this trilogy.

Loved this book!

Story is clear, intriguing and well the narration was very good. I already purchased the last 2 because this was so good.

Think Lord or the Ringsesque with One BadA*s Female Warrior!

I remember when I was a little girl, Lord of the Rings was the first big book I ever read. Now granted my dad helped me with this! My dad would sit in between my brother’s and my bedrooms before bed and we would sit with him. He would scroll his finger across the words so we could learn how to read. It was wonderful! This book is the start of one of my new favorite series! It was awesome! Great plot twists, just enough info on all the different types of beings to paint a solid picture of the domains and make me want to see more! Maeve of Carn is a dynamo! She is a force! The flow of the book was great for laying the foundation for the books to come! Angela Ford is a writing wizard! So excited for book #2!

Maeve is a bit like Wonder Woman

This book was amazing. I listened to the whole book in 2.5 days. I didn't want to stop listening. The characters each have distinct personalities. The plot flows along well. There is a lot of action. I'd recommend this book to those looking for a Fae fantasy book with magic and dragons. The main character, Maeve is not exactly a good person but she isn't evil either. She dresses like Wonder Woman and she is strong like Wonder Woman. She is also confident. I look forward to the next book.
 
Maeve has come to realize that the bad predicament that she has found herself in is of her own making. The Fae don't have any control over those who don’t harm innocents. Even with that knowledge, she is not yet ready to change. She is desperate for her freedom from the Fae. This book has twists and turns. The characters have secrets. We learn some of those secrets in this first book.
 
The narrator did a great job. Her voice fluctuates and is appealing to the ear. It is easy to differentiate among the characters that she is portraying.

My new favorite!!

The cover was the first thing that caught my attention. It’s a beauty and it illustrates so much that could happen in the book!!
Maeve of Carn is a mighty warrior. She has superhuman strength and she uses her skills for hire. She cares nothing more, just to collect coin and survive another day. Until one day she is captured by dark Fae and kept as their slave. This is when the Prophecy of Erinyes comes out! Maeve must go on a mission with a scholar named Sardine. Along the journey she finds a old friend and perhaps two foes or will they become her friends as well? This was a fun ride!! I absolutely loved the world building. So unique yet attainable to envision myself. From Fae, to dragons, and goblins this was a intense book!! I found it very hard to put the book on pause. I enjoyed every minute of it and I’m looking forward to reading the next installment.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Raquel Beattie did a fabulous job!! She was the perfect voice for Maeve and she truly brought the story alive for me. The descriptions, narrating other characters. Just perfect!!

Great first book

This was a super exciting read full of adventure and suspense! The story is creative and very unique, and is well written with a nice flow. I liked the characters, and the strong female voice that leads the story. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Dark Fae Adventure

This author has created a very unique world. The dark Fae defeated powerful enemies only to find themselves cursed. In an effort to lift the curse they capture Maeve so that she can go on a quest to reverse the curse. Meanwhile Maeve is trying to learn more about her heritage. There is a lot to unravel in this story and I had to rewind and listen to things a few times. It’s not an easy listen but it is is worth the effort. There are so many secrets among allies, betrayal and mystery that you cannot predict anything. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

A Unique Adventure

The main character Maeve is going on a mission for the dark car to earn her freedom . This book is a true gem. I will try to wait patiently for the next books to come out . The narration was very well done also.

Great example dark epic fantasy

Here is a good example of a fantastic yet not over powered heroine. She is as the title states a pawn. She is stronger than normal but that doesn't make her the smartest, most powerful,ect . Plenty of action to be had.
