So begins the verse narrative of the legendary Revolutionary war legend by celebrated American 19th century poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. With charging rhythm and clarion language, in 14 stanzas, the poet conjures the dramatic, moving images of the rousing and pivotal ride of the famed patriot. Nostalgic

Hearing this poem again reminds me of my school days when we were required to memorize part of it. I’m so grateful for the brave men who paved the way for a free nation. Thank you for this offering.
