Most of Erickson's approach to psychotherapy revolved around an understanding of the patient's (or client's) existing behavioral patterns. He elegantly used or interrupted these patterns in a way that produced the desired change. This concise book is a practical overview that will give you techniques that can be used immediately to enhance your practice.
Milton H. Erickson, MD was an American psychiatrist who pioneered several indirect or permissive hypnosis techniques. He also developed several naturalistic techniques using metaphors and stories. He is one of the two most important figures in the development of hypnosis and hypnotherapy in the 20th century. His techniques have been used in behavioral and medical applications.
