Excellent Book

The first was good , this one took it TPA notch to excellent! Can’t wait till 3rd.

A Tantalizing, Dark and Mesmerizing Tale

This is an amazing sequel to Suspended; it has all the features that make a great book. It has captivating characters that you cannot help but become attached to, love, suspense, intrigue and a darker storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat and won't let you stop listening until it's done. Paralyzed, picks up where the first book, Suspended, left off. The Vagabond Circus’ ringmaster is dead. Everyone is struggling to come to grips with this devastating occurrence, but the show must go on and Titus must find a way to keep Dave Raydon’s legacy going. Jack leaves to go to Knight's warehouse, bent on revenge for David's death. Zuma feels betrayed by Finley and he is devastated by her distrust. We learn more of the history of behind Vagabond Circus and surprising secrets are revealed.
I absolutely love the broken people in this book. The characters are not perfect, and they continually struggle to cope and become better people; it makes them real and your attachment to them grows as their vulnerability and past is revealed. Zuma and Finley are well-developed characters that grow in complexity as the books progressed, and the convolutions of their relationship is captivating. I think the villain in this series, Charles Knight, is the best one created by Sarah to date. He is complicated, cruel and intelligent. The psychological and emotional manipulation, along with the physical deprivation and cruelty shown, creates a depth and complexity to the bad guy that wasn't as well developed in her other villains. His actions make your heart break for the damage he has done to the Dream Traveler children, it brings home just how vulnerable a young mind is and what devastation abuse can cause. It also makes you even more amazed and attached to Findly, he has an underlying pureness, strength and determination to his nature that allowed him to eventually overcome his conditioning and fight against the cycle of abuse.
The narration is perfect, Barnes eclectic voice fits the circus and its characters well. He brings the characters to life and really pulls you into the story, so you feel you are actually experiencing the events and emotions along with the characters. His voice captures you, creating images in your mind and transporting you into the wreckage that has become Vagabond Circus.
This is a really great story with excellent narration and the ending leaves you holding your breath for the next in the series.

Things are making more sense

This is the twentieth book I’ve read/listened to by this author. I love, love, the dream traveller books!
Despite having the common tread of the dream traveller ability, each series is so original. This one is no exception. Dream travellers find themselves a family and home amongst the circus. Their abilities are well tuned to provide amazing performances to the general public. Problem is, someone is threatening their circus and their lives. Zuma and Finley are key to saving the circus. First however, they need to save Jack.

This is the second book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Steve Barnes ) and I would listen to another. He does the character voices well. Each is distinguishable. His narration style and/or tone of his voice adds to the suspense.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

Great Read

Paralyzed: A Dream Traveler Adventure: Vagabond Circus, Book Two was a great read by Sarah Noffke. After Dr. Dave's death, everyone is looking at who will save the circus. Zuma knows that she needs to save the circus from the intended doom. Titus is tasked with making sure that the circus and show goes on. Jack finds himself in a deadly situation; where Zuma and Finley are the only ones who can save him. I really enjoyed learning about how Dave saved everyone in the circus. I really enjoyed this second installment of the Vagabond Circus. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Things rachet up a notch or two

Everything is in turmoil for everything to also be so clear. The adventure and emotional growth both increase exponentially in book two
