Josie’s a Robot, who must find her Human Side, to deter the Alien Invaders with Kindness:

A rogue planet passes near the Solar System. Earth is safe, but space agencies seize the chance to visit an extrasolar world when it’s right in our back-yard. It’s abandoned, but shows signs of once being inhabited. Josie, the ship’s A. I. controller, has to flee the hostile world when crew members start vanishing.

On arrival at the Earth/Moon system, she and her remaining crew discover they’ve brought an alien invasion with them. In a robot body like the one she lost hunting for missing crew members, she seeks to use kindness rather than violence to defuse the situation.

Can she find her inner humanity and resolve the problem with the alien overlords of the invaders? What other aspects of her ‘human side’ can she develop, as her efforts are achieving their goal? Will she get along as well with the humans as with the alien robot diplomats?
