Jon's work and life are similar to a complex chess game, you always have to count many moves ahead. For some time now Jon tried to keep it simple, something he can count through and through without any difficulty, but apparently this time he miscalculated.

He finds out that part of his past is much closer than he thought

He finally understands that promising research are never discarded for long for any reason

And he should ask Lobo for advice about women. :-))
