"Heath Miller smoothly narrates this young adult fantasy.... [He] ensures that listeners of all ages will thoroughly enjoy this audio experience." (AudioFile Magazine)

Writing as A. Deborah Baker, New York Times best-selling and award-winning author Seanan McGuire introduces listeners to a world of talking trees and sarcastic owls, of dangerous mermaids and captivating queens in Over the Woodward Wall, an exceptional tale for listeners who are young at heart.

If you trust her you’ll never make it home....

Avery is an exceptional child. Everything he does is precise, from the way he washes his face in the morning, to the way he completes his homework - without complaint, without fuss, without prompt.

Zib is also an exceptional child, because all children are, in their own way. But where everything Avery does and is can be measured, nothing Zib does can possibly be predicted, except for the fact that she can always be relied upon to be unpredictable.

They live on the same street.

They live in different worlds.

On an unplanned detour from home to school one morning, Avery and Zib find themselves climbing over a stone wall into the Up and Under - an impossible land filled with mystery, adventure, and the strangest creatures.

And they must find themselves and each other if they are to also find their way out and back to their own lives.

I wish I had read this before I read Middlegame. I feel like it would have tied things together very nicely.

This is an extremely well written story that has some parallels to the Oz books. This interweaves so well with the novel MiddleGame by Seanan McGuire it’s wonderful. You get insight into the story that helped form the story of MiddleGame. The children in the story are full of character and impeccably voiced by Heath Miller, he really brought the entire story to life. I can’t wait for the next book and I definitely hope there will be many more.

This story takes you on a wonderful adventure. It’s clever, seamless writing brings you right along with the children as they travel through the Up and Under in search of a way home. Like all the best fairy tales, the choices made change their goals and they learn a lot about not only themselves, but this new and dangerously delightful world, and also the place they’ve always called home. It’s is brilliantly narrated by Heath Miller who not only brings to life the voices of the children and fairytale creatures alike, but also captures the spirit of the story with tone and timbre. Under the Woodward Wall is an enjoyable diversion that also has substance.
