Realising the modern battlefield no longer has a place for the cavalry, Harry Thatcher and his friend, Thomson, join the Royal Flying Corps to take the fight to the Germans. But it’s April 1917, and the British are about to launch a big offensive near Arras. Overhead, the Germans rule the skies, and it’s the job of the pilots of the RFC to drive them down. But the Germans have better aircraft and the average life expectancy of a new British pilot is measured in days. In the skies above France, Harry must overcome both his fear and his nemesis, the German ace, the Harlequin.
