A nice stressful experience

I forgot how STRESSFUL this book is! Reading it is one thing, but listening to it brought a whole new level to my experience with this book. It's such a great story and Jac really brought the characters to life for me in a way that I hadn't when I was reading the book the first time.

Hitz always knocks it out of the park. I swear, that man could write out his grocery list and I'd give it a standing ovation lol. In all seriousness, Our Trip Through Hell is a gripping story with all kinds of mayhem, madness, and murder (and I'm not talking about the weird nasty bird things Missy finds!).

Jac did so well with the voices for each character and giving even more dimension to characters that already felt pretty 3D to me just form reading Hitz's work. There were a couple words here and there that sounded a little off to me, but overall, what a nice stressful listening experience! And absolutely perfect for the Halloween season!

Fantastic Horror Novel

Our Trip Through Hell is part dark fantasy, part adventure, and part thriller all wrapped in a terrifying horror story.

When friends visit a family graveyard on an abandoned island, they soon discover a portal to Hell. What follows is a wicked journey through a nightmarish world deep underground.

What impressed me the most was the way Hitz expertly crafted this entertaining story. His prose and storytelling were superb. The characters were well presented and each one felt real. I easily envisioned each one and felt for them as they dealt with this horrific situation.

The Hell that Hitz portrays is quite different than how I envision the place of eternal damnation, but damn does it work! It’s such a unique take on a familiar concept and I was all in on it.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Jacalyn McQueeny and she does a fantastic job of bringing this nightmarish world to life.
