A killer reborn. A city paralyzed. A detective whose own sins are the only key to the truth.

Three decades ago, the serial killer known as Astaroth turned San Francisco into a slaughterhouse before vanishing into the fog. Now, he’s back. And he isn't just killing, he’s sending a message.

Detective Alec Wolfe doesn't believe in ghosts, but as the bodies pile up in the streets of San Francisco, he's forced to confront a nightmare he thought was buried. Astaroth is playing a depraved game of cat-and-mouse, leaving behind clues that are far too personal to be a coincidence.

As Alec delves into the chilling abyss of the killer’s mind, he realizes the dark secrets of his own past are inextricably bound to the malevolent force haunting the city. To stop the slaughter, Alec must face the one thing more terrifying than the killer—his own sinful history.

What happens when the only way to catch a monster is to become one?

"Original Sin" is an atmospheric, dark serial killer mystery perfect for fans of Se7en, Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch, and the relentless grit of David Baldacci.

If you love pulse-pounding police procedurals and psychological suspense where the past and present collide, you’ll love Original Sin.

Not my kind of read. Couldn’t get past the first few chapters. Police are not judge and jury, no matter how bad the suspects are or may be. And having an AI narrator who sounds African American even though the character is described as white is definitely tone deaf. Not a fan of AI narration; so many mistakes in inflection and pronunciation.

White policeman shooting unarmed black suspects not a good look
