I found this confusing at best, boring at worst. There was too much going on for me to keep up with. Nano Nagle was a fine narrator. was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

This is a story that starts with grief and ends with a fling. It is a love story, but not a love forever story. In fact there are several love stories, the one for a lost child, the one for a rebellious but so lovable daughter, new love, old love, young love, love of adventure, vicarious love, love for a new start. It is all there in the streets of Montmartre, expressed in its art, joie de vivre, ancient cobblestones. But its also the story of profound grief for the loss of a son, a wife, a brother, a grief that is about to destroy the remaining family members. This break from the everyday life is just what the doctor ordered. Away from the constant memories and familiar places, the healing process can finally really start. And it is this healing process at the end that it's at the heart of this book. Nicely written and narrated, you will enjoy this different type of love story.

Unique, well written and fantastic narration - this was fantastic!

Great!

I loved listening to One Summer in Montmartre. It was multi-layered with parallel stories and well-rounded, likeable characters. I think the author Teagan Kearney did a fabulous job writing this story. It was descriptive and dreamy. I'll look for more audiobook by this author. I really enjoyed this one.

The narration by Nano Nagie was exquisite. She had such a lovely voice with excellent voice inflections while portaying the characters perfectly. A great pairing with author and reader. I'll look for more from her as well. i'd recommend this one all day.

Paris, Art, and Love, The Perfect Trifecta

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request from AudioBoom and agreed to give an honest review. I liked this book, and I'm glad I listened to it. I'm not sure it's one I would have picked out on my own as it is not your typical romance, despite its subtitle. Anna, the contemporary heroine, is close to my age (i.e. not young!) and her fascination with a work of art combined with her despair over the loss of her son leave her vulnerable and unsure of the foundations in her life she previously thought sound. Her research in Paris uncovers a century old love story between a painter and his subject while it simultaneously allows her to explore passion from an unfamiliar perspective in a new-to-her city. There are no heart-stopping moments of excitement, but the story gently peels back the illusion of love to reveal the foundations important in every relationship, regardless of time or place.
