Resumen del Editor

Brought to you by Penguin.

Hours stretch into days which stretch into weeks. Volunteers go home, police are assigned new missions and the missing hiker, Timothy O'Day, becomes one more missing person, vanished without a trace.

Until Frankie Elkin - missing persons specialist - comes to town. Fresh off her case in Boston, Frankie heads to Wyoming, determined to find Timothy and bring him home - whatever the cost.

Frankie joins a seven day woodland search team, lead by Tim's father Martin, as they venture deep into the dark forest to uncover the truth. Broken tree limbs and traces of blood suggest a wild animal may be lurking nearby. Frankie knows better.

But with secrets swirling and tensions raised in the group, it becomes clear that Frankie Elkin's newest case could be her last

didn't see that coming

Starts of very unassuming for how the story ends up going....couldn't stop listening toward the end!

Excellent

As always Lisa Gardner didn't disappoint. I was a bit concerned it was going to be boring when it carried on in the wilderness, but didn't expect the twist at all.
Great read

So much potianal

I just loved the first book in this series but the second book has left me flat. So much filler about the woods and the charterers just goes on and on. Unskilled hikers attempt one more recovery attempt of lost friend or son. Terrain impossible. Motivations weak mostly vague guilt. No real reasons to try dead end trip with little chance to succeed or even live thru. The character of Frankie is hard to manage even in her usual urban ghetto setting because her risks are foolish and huge. Here it's even worse making no sense. Overall, I really did enjoy the book-especially the 1st half or so. Was a good buildup of suspense at the beginning. Then..... it kind of fizzled and became a long & tedious horror story. (When it mentioned them being up against "the worst that man and nature had to offer" on the cover was hoping for some action like a flash flood or giant hail or getting lost in the caves with rattle snakes or something.) Agree with an earlier review the ending came off a bit "Murder, She Wrote" -ish which was a disappointment. Guessed the killer(s) about half way through & suspected much earlier.
