One Hour to Midnight is a sequel to Signs Are For Strangers written by Pastor and Bible Teacher David Campbell. He was born July 5th, 1927 in Portadown, North Ireland, U.K. As a teenager he had a New Birth experience and dedicated the remainder of his life in the service of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. David was heavily influenced by the ministries of Pastors Gordon Magee and James Forsythe, of the Churches of God in Northern Ireland.
David married Jane Beattie in 1950 and their only Son Gordon was born a year later in 1951. In 1956, the Campbell Family moved to the South of England and David quickly became an Assistant Pastor in Croydon, London. In 1969 he felt the call to Elgin, Moray, Scotland, and while there, he established Calvary Tabernacle Church and built a new building. As 1974 came to a close, David and Jane (Jean) felt the call of God to establish another small group of Believers in Sunderland, England, and Life Tabernacle in Farringdon was established soon after. David Campbell passed away at age 53, but his work lives on as the Elgin and Sunderland Churches remain active to this day (2023) preaching Truth.
