Resumen del Editor

When a brutal attack from a jealous competitor leaves Noah Strauss, darling of the modeling world, physically scarred and emotionally damaged, he quits the runway to become a psychologist. Using his contacts from his time in the spotlight, he creates One Call Away, a radio show dedicated to gay men looking for love, advice or someone to talk to. But with secrets of his own and a mother who refuses to understand the career path he's chosen, the one person Noah can't seem to help is himself.

On a drunken dare from the senior partner's grandson, Oren Leavitt calls Noah's radio show, pretending to be gay. Only Oren isn't certain if he's pretending. He's left his strict Orthodox Jewish upbringing behind, but the guilt remains. Guilt that his actions have prevented his sister from finding a husband and guilt that he's failed his parents. Talking to "Dr. Noah" helps, and as he finds himself calling the man again and again, he knows he must be honest. But Oren is unsure if he's lying to Noah or himself.

For Noah, trust is paramount; he's been deceived in his personal and professional life and while he desperately wants to help Oren, he also finds himself falling for the sweet and tortured man. Oren is trapped: he risks losing his job and more importantly the love and security of his family but knows he can't hide if he wants to be with Noah. When unresolved heartaches from the past rise up to control the present, Noah and Oren discover that love often comes from the most unexpected places, and sometimes a call for help not only saves a life, it can be a new and beautiful beginning.

One Call Away

*Audio Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure in hopes of an unbiased opinion, a review was not a requirement.*

Noah is a psychologist and has a radio call-in show providing advice and support to gay men. One night he gets a call from Oren who he's unable to forget. And it seems Oren feels the same as he also reaches out again to Noah.

Both Noah and Oren were pushing against family desires to create a life for themselves. Noah's mother wanted him to go back to being a model, and never acknowledged the work he did as a psychologist. Oren's family was a very devout Jewish family. They were proud of their son for his work as a lawyer, but they wanted marriage and family for him and for him to continue in their Jewish faith.

I enjoyed both Noah and Oren’s characters. I rarely read books that have anything related to religion, any religion, but this one wasn’t overrun by it. It’s definitely prevalent and there’s no doubt that Oren and his family are religious but it wasn’t overwhelming, in my opinion.

The narrator of this story was Seth Clayton and he did a good job. He was able to give the characters individual voices, manage accents, narrated at a good pace and was easy to listen to. There were no odd or long pauses that interrupted or distracted me from the story.

I haven’t read this book but I did enjoy the audio and would definitely recommend it. And, for reader’s of this author, you’ll get some interactions with characters from another series, which was a nice surprise.

Happily Ever

I just finished this amazing book. It is a m/m story of two Jewish men who meet and find what is missing in their lives. Noah is a psychologist, and not religious, with a call in radio show for gay men and Oren is a lawyer, raised orthodox, working at a fancy New York law firm. Oren calls in to Noah's show and their lives are changed forever. This is a sweet and beautiful story that has some hot sexy times too. The narration is by Seth Clayton who separates each character with nuances of accents that are perfect. I am off to find more work by both Felice Stevens and Seth Clayton.

Courage

This story starts with lots of angst. Oren has so much that he is holding onto in his life. I love the preemies that it was to be a joke but it started him on the journey to self acceptance. Noah also has things he needs to face and I like how as much as Noah helped Oren, Oren was helping right back. I love how we got to see the families processed truths as well.
I listened to the audio version and enjoyed it very much.

Really enjoyed the story

That was a really good story.. I liked that they became friends before anything happened. I would have liked to have seen something major happen to his boss for what he did. I knew that was his sister!

A brilliant performance and a magical story!

A magical love story by Felice Stevens. The tale of a psychologist who was once a male model who spends his time making sure that others have the opportunity for beauty and love in life but has little to no aspirations for himself. When he receives a call from an Orthodox Jewish lawyer that somehow touches his heart and changes his life.
The performance by Seth Clayton is brilliant and although he is new to me, I will remember the name. Felice always delivers a beautiful and touching story and this one is magical.

good

this book was good, it can get a little cheesy at times, and the narrator can be a little off with the tone of the scene but it wasn't too bad just a little nitpick of mine.

great narrator!

I didn't give full 5 stars because it's kinda missing that extra oomph, but I really liked this book, especially the narration, which was excellent. The story is very sweet and I liked that they were able to work out their problems with little difficulty.
