Sweet Cinderella Retelling

This is the first book in The Billionaire Fairy Tales. This is a great start to this retelling series of some classics. Ella and Dax's story is sweet and entertaining. It's an interesting adaptation of Cinderella. Shiloh James and Jim Catapano have done a great job bringing this story to life. I can't wait to listen to Once upon a Best, the next book in the series. Ella works for Dax Moore, who is her late father’s business partner’s son. Dax admires Ella’s heard work, slowly the chemistry between both of them grows after they spend more time together. Dax knows he must also protect Ella from her family. This is steamy and will warm your heart.

Enjoyable Cinderella modern variation!

Once upon a Prince is a charming contemporary romance that begins a series that follows the lives of young women whose stories are variations of fairytales.
This first book follows MFC Ella who longs to escape her evil stepmother, and a job working for billionaire MMC Dax Moore is just the first step.
I have read and reviewed the e-book version of this story and was pleased to have the opportunity to listen to the audio version which I enjoyed for the engaging voices of the narrators Shiloh James and Jim Catapano as their character portrayals brought the energy, and vibrancy to this compelling, steamy romance playing out against the backdrop of New York City. Dreams can come true as Ella is soon to find out with humor, a little magic, and lots of heart.

Sweet love story

This turned out to be such a sweet, modern Cinderella retelling. We follow Ella and Dax, who knew each other years ago but haven’t crossed paths in over a decade. Ella’s life has been controlled by her stepmother, who basically forces her to do everything for the family company while draining her financially. When Ella finally breaks free, she ends up working as Dax’s personal assistant and that’s where the magic really begins.

I loved how their romance unfolded. If you didn’t know this was a Cinderella retelling, you probably wouldn’t even notice, because the love story feels organic and natural. There’s no insta-love here; instead, their connection builds slowly and believably, with plenty of heart.

The audiobook narration adds charm to the story, giving both Ella and Dax distinct voices that make their chemistry shine. It’s not a fast-and-furious, spice-heavy romance so if you’re looking for steamy scenes, this isn’t that kind of book. But what it is is a full, well-paced story with emotional payoff and a genuinely sweet romance.

Overall, Once Upon a Prince is a cozy, feel-good listen that blends fairy-tale inspiration with modern office romance. It’s the kind of story that leaves you smiling by the end.
