Awful Narration and too short

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

As a kindle book probably but as an audible no, not with this narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

Second chances.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Christine Padovan?

Anyone else would have been better, the performance was so wooden and did not flow at all. It was stilted and when changing voices for different characters it was just confusing. I made myself finish this book but returned the rest of the series that I had pre purchased because the story's premise held so much promise unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to listen to another book by this narrator. Sorry if this sounds harsh but it was just terrible.

Do you think Once Her Man, Always Her Man: A 1 Night Stand Story needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

This book was a little too short, I needed to know more about their life apart to make this more real for me. I realise that as a short novel there is often not possible so a follow up even if it is only an epilogue would have been a good idea.

Everything was forgiven just a little bit too easily for me, he left without explanation and she put her love on hold for over 10 years and bam they meet and its all forgive and forget the past in one night???? She's a better person than me.

good story, didn't care much for the voice of the narrator. great story line. thanks

Sweet Heather Long romance

When I want 'happy ever after' endings but with hot sex thrown in, I turn to this author's sweet Marine stories. This is the start of the series and not as hot as some of her others, but sets up the premise for the start of Mike's Place and all the other characters and stories to follow.

Masterfully written and well narrated love story

As her Amazon reviews say, Ms. Long is a master of the short story. There is a beginning, middle and end to all the characters. I could feel the pain and longing of Luke and Rebecca from the very first description.

And, of course, wonderfully written and beautifully described sex scenes :-) - the narrator has improved considerably from a year ago in the Romance genre.

Hope to see the rest of Ms. Long's 'Always a Marine' series make it into audio form :-)

No, the story is good, but the narrator sounds like a robot and she is talking through a can!

Better narrator

DNF - not enough tension

I compulsively finish books but this was a DNF for me - I made it about the 3/4 mark. It may likely just be a style thing but I felt all the tension went out of the story. The story was technically well written, though. This was an Audible listen, the narrators were ok, didn't distract from the story.

Horrible

The narration on this was absolutely terrible. Thankfully, the story was short so I was able to deal with it long enough to finish. I don’t think I could have lasted much longer though.
