Fantastic, a great series from start to finish.

Great ending if it has to end. Love to see how Piper grows up. This series has been a wild ride that I have really enjoyed. Great to be able to dive into this story line and leave the world behind for a brief moment.

Good series but...

I really like this series. It has too much review over past details, but it's light and easy to listen to while doing other things. BUT, why why why does a science fiction writer not know why the sky is blue? When Dan is describing the sky of an alien planet and says the sky is blue so he knows its mostly covered by water is SO wrong! The sky is not blue because it reflects the color of the ocean. How did no one catch this in review?

A nice wrap up to the series.

I really enjoyed the story, wrapped things up nicely. I feel like there is more story to tell with Piper and the architects. hopefully we get that one day. I saw there is a prequel so who knows!

As good as it gets.

I have enjoyed the series of books more than I can express. Anyone who enjoys the science fiction genre this is a must read. Unlike so many multibook series this one gets better with each additional story. Now that the story is complete it is easy to binge all the way through. The one rough spot would be book 5 with an over abundance of rehashing the past storyline. The entire series comes hardly recommended.

One of the most amazing series to exist

This series truly makes you feel as though you are right there witnessing and experiencing everything the characters are. I feel like I’m standing there part of Dans trusted group being told the details while the rest of the world is at a distance. This had been my favorite book so far in the series.
Although I have to admit, as an introvert addicted to science fiction because that can only dream of being on a planet all of my own for even 5 minutes, the final words of this book were slightly traumatizing 🤣
Amazing job Patrick at your reading too! You do so many amazing, individualized voices and each person just comes alive. I am never confused as to who is talking

Sure the book is filled with a lot of review. Some instances it can be helpful depending how long will you read books. Either way it’s a good story and comes to a nice facility. The character development throughout the way has been fun and very enjoyable. The author unwound a wonderful story. In the narrator was great if you’re into sci-fi invite a wonderful story this series is worth a listen

Not Alone Series

This is a very long series, close to 100 hours of listening in the unabridged audiobook format of six novels. Given the length, you need a voice pleasant to hear and James Patrick Cronin does a terrific job throughout. Pacing, tempo, male and female voices, etc., overall production very well done. Not Alone is a SciFi series and Book One was released in August of 2016, book 6 in June of 2020, all by Audible Studios. Not Alone is character-driven, albeit few main characters – which is nice listening and you get to know everyone. No need for struggling to keep track of who-is-who, and thanks to the excellent narration, no problems with who-is-speaking-to-who.

Plot. Dan McCarthy, while riding his bike on a delivery, collides with a robber who drops an envelope containing definitive proof of a government cover-up. Human knowledge of aliens, i.e., we are Not Alone, has been a fact since 1938. Early on, you're skeptical and before the books are finished - well, no spoilers. But, SciFi lovers will be beyond pleased as Dan's amazing adventures unfold. Start with book one, and read in sequence or you'll miss a great deal.

Liked. Character development, humanoid, and otherwise. You like most, hate a few. The ultimate goodness of mankind, and any potential visitors, is something we all wish to be true.

Not so hot? Repetitive. Most noticeable in the series, Falconer re-caps a great deal, almost as if he needs to remind himself where the plot is and how we got here, reading from his own notes. Painful to listen to for anyone who is binge-listening to all six books in the series. Kept mumbling, 'Yeah, yeah, I know, I know - move on." Actually did have to fast-forward a bit.

No clicking knees, not a blood-and-guts type horror SciFi. This is a first contact story out of a vivid imagination telling us what it might really be like. World politics, wonder, fear, greed, hope - it's all here. No sex, nothing offensive. Recommended!
