Short Stories

If you like short stories then there will sure to be something in here for you. Highly enjoyable. The narrating was good. I received this audiobook for free in a promotion by the author, narrator or publisher, and I am voluntarily providing this review.

Great set of short stories

<strong>No Where to Hide and Other Mystery Stories</strong> contains six mystery short stories by Jean Marie Stine:

<em>"The Cruise Ship Murder"</em>: Dr. Dick Carr has a boring existence on a cruise ship until called in to the scene of a murder, where a honeymooning couple are stuck in their cabin, he with a knife oin his back. It is up to Dick to find the true killer.

<em>"No Where to Hide"</em:>: Susie has to flee in her wheelchair from an attacker, a man who must have killed her friend, Millie.

<em>"The Boxoffice Caper"</em>: This story is written as a police report by G. Payton Wortenbaker about the theft of money at a movie theater.

<em>"Dark Hunger"</em>: Allison, single mother of 7-year-old Timmy, finds herself having to flee a vampire going after mother and son.

<em>"The Greensox Murder Case"</em>: Sergeant Norman Ellison investigates a case when someone has committing multiple strangulations with the shoelaces from the Greensox baseball team.

<em>"[e-mail]"</em>: Sean has to hide from Mr. Nice when the man comes after him after Mr. Nice offered free comic books online.

The short stories in <strong>No Where to Hide and Other Mystery Stories</strong> are ideal for people with little time to spend on full- length mystery books. Being brief, they don't have depth, but they are enjoyable. Some do seem to end very abruptly, but that is the built-in limitation of short stories.

Francene Lockett performs the audio edition of this book, with effective voicing of the stories. She makes the story stories seem believable and full of mystery without adding a creepy sound to the pieces.

People who have time to read full- length books will likely prefer to stick to novels instead of short stories. However, this book is great for people who enjoy mysteries but don't want to invest the time and effort in a longer book. I give it four stars.

Good performance. I enjoyed some of the short story mysteries very much and others were not quite as interesting to me.

This was an interesting set of short who done its. It was very satisfying to get clues and solve the mysteries in such a short period of time. Enjoyable and entertaining. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

Engaging mystery short stories

I enjoyed this collection of short stories by Jean Marie Stine. They were entertaining and well written. I think I’ll play the Mr. Nice story to my grandsons as cautionary advice. The narration by Francene Lockett was great.

Entertaining Narration

Six fairly interesting stories. Mr Nice was a story that a teacher would read to students to warn them of the dangers of the internet. I thought the Greensox Murders was the best story, combining intriguing characters, humor,and a good story. Francine Lockett’s performance was better than the stories themselves.

Short stories

Collection of very short stories. No plot or character development. Good stories. Narrator was a little irritating.

Most of the stories kept my interest. Narration was really good and kept it interesting.
