Resumen del Editor

No Way Home is an audiobook memoir of growing up on the run - and what happens when it comes to a stop.

"Lucid, tender, exquisitely re-imagined, and compulsively readable." (Jessica Nelson, author of If Only You People Could Follow Directions)

"In this wondrous and richly detailed coming of age story, Tyler Wetherall follows the breadcrumbs of her childhood to discover a family home that is unlike any other." (Katy Lederer, author of Poker Face)

Tyler had lived in 13 houses and five countries by the time she was nine. A willful and curious child, she never questioned her strange upbringing - that is, until Scotland Yard showed up outside her ramshackle English home, and she discovered her family had been living a lie. Her father was a fugitive and her name was not her own.

In sunny California, 10 years earlier, her father’s criminal organization first came to the FBI's attention. Soon after, her parents were forced on the run, taking their three young children with them, and they spent the following years fleeing through Europe, assuming different identities and hiding out in a series of far-flung places. Now her father was attempting one final escape - except this time, he couldn’t take her with him.

In this emotionally compelling and gripping memoir, Tyler Wetherall brings to life her fugitive childhood, following the threads that tie a family together through hardship, from her parents’ first meeting in 1960s New York to her present life as a restless writer unpacking the secrets of her past. No Way Home is about love, loss, and learning to tell the story of our lives.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Lucid, tender, exquisitely re-imagined, and compulsively readable." (Jessica Nelson, author of If Only You People Could Follow Directions)

"Wetherall has written a luminous memoir that no one who reads it will soon forget. [No Way Home] has the feeling of a thriller told from the point of view of innocence. It’s an arresting, absorbing read.” - The Washington Post

very powerful. my mom almost married a man just

like her father. it's crazy how are paths can be different from one choice. he had gone to prison for 10 years. this girls story is so touching that they kept their love intact. due to their moms support to love him despite his bad choices. most moms wouldn't of gone that far in my opinion.

Fascinating story, well told and narrated.

The author tells a very interesting tale filled with many twists and turns.
She shares intimate details of her father’s “life on the run” as well as the psychological effects on the family and on the children’s lives. There’s obvious love there with an equal amount of frustration and anger amidst the difficulties which the “chase” has on them all. Highly recommended.

Remarkble Story Telling Skills

Life. people and family will never be Sears Catalog Items milled fresh and standard with copies to buy from some shelf. Some people are violated by this reality. These kinds of stories make that reality even more clear. While President Reagan polluted inner-city America by allowing the sale and distribution of Cocaine (See Freeway Ricky Ross Documentary) with his right hand, with his left he created "wars on drugs". The treason rolls down. One man arrested for selling pot had to go on the lam with his family after being caught. Somehow through this challenge, he and his wife's humanity rose above all complexities as they shapeshifted and raised, cared for and loved their children. Who grew in happy memories of being loved and traveling. Having extraordinary childhoods. Mingling with other cultures, and learning to become shapeshifters too. The seething resentment of these conditions weaves through the story by the author. She was forced to live out of the box. But had she not, she would have had to lean on novel writing. Her writing skills are magical and witty. I will buy the next book in advance, only if it is not a novel. She takes the reader into the moments. I almost feel as if I gained some pleasant childhood memories for myself, just by listening. Fabulous book to take on summer vacation.
