Billy calls on her childhood friends, Reese and Yoshi, to stand with her on her special day. Several years have passed since they'd last come together, and unresolved issues have driven a wedge between the women. Nevertheless, they agree to put their differences aside for the sake of Billy's wedding. But the truce is a short one when Billy has to decide on a maid of honor. Just when things seem to be coming together, they quickly begin to fall apart. At a time when Billy is supposed to be basking in the sunshine of her approaching wedding, she finds herself the target of shade being thrown from the most unlikely places.

While Billy is going through her drama, Marcus is dealing with issues of his own. An old crime partner of his blows into town unexpectedly, and his presence threatens to destroy the legitimate life Marcus has worked so hard to build.

Even with the universe seemingly working against them, Billy and Marcus are determined to have their dream wedding. But first they have to survive the nightmare of planning it.

Gucci and Animal?

I'm tryna figure out where's Gucci and Animal. I've been listening to book after book and they haven't showed back up

This reader is not bad ,,,she's horrible..her reading takes away from the story line.
This is a wonderful writer,but it didn't hold my attention

Story was good narrator was horrible

The story was a typical Kwan book which I enjoyed. The narrator ducked. She needs lessons in pronunciation.

At least get the names right...

Getting names wrong is a No-No.. Especially when there are many other books and readings of the same cast of characters

The story and narration was wonderful, although it took me a second with going from the male narrator to this lovely voice of a woman was great,

Narrator no bueno

First of all, the narrator should've been told how to pronounce names.. She pronounced "Shy or Shai" as "Shaaayy" the whole story, drove me nuts. The story was strong and I'm a fan of K'wan but you have to love the hood stories to appreciate his books!

Early Review

I am stopping here at chapter 4 to say that this narrator is horrible!!!! Who is this, I have never ran into this narrator before but I would never again listen. This may seem like a harsh review but the narration job is THAT bad. I never compare narrators but I can think of at least 5 off the top of my head that would have done this story much justice Just read the book.

Please don't

The performance was terrible, please don't let Kim Johnson narrate another book. There were too many pauses and heavy breathing

Storyline is great

I have enjoyed the series, thus far.!

With this book, I cringed, every time the reader, mispronounced Shai. She pronounced it as Shay. It was not her only error, with pronouncing words.

When you follow a series, and become so involved with the characters, constant mistakes on audio, have an impact. I use to think people were over the top, when they complained about a reader's mispronounced word/words. This reader, affected my vibe.
