Resumen del Editor

Trump, as extreme as he is, is less an aberration than a logical conclusion - a pastiche of pretty much all the worst and most dangerous trends of the past half century. A one-man megabrand, with wife and children as spin-off brands...

Remember when it all seemed to be getting better? Before Trump happened? Naomi Klein, internationally acclaimed journalist, activist and best-selling author, shows us how we got to this surreal and dangerous place, how to stop it getting a lot worse, and how, if we keep our heads, we can make things better.

No Is Not Enough reveals, among other things, how Trump's election was not a peaceful transition but a corporate takeover, one using deliberate shock tactics to generate wave after wave of crises and force through radical policies that will destroy people, the environment, the economy and national security.

This audiobook is the tool kit for shock resistance, showing all of us how we can break Trump's spell and win the world we need. Don't let them get away with it.

A good introduction to Naomi Klein's politics

A very good and concise introduction to Naomi Klein's interpretation of shock politics, climate change, capitalism, Trump, and what she believes is necessary to overcome these threats to society. Klein emphasises "evolution" over revolution and offers a plethora of examples of progressive movements that might make such an "evolution" possible, including, ironically, acclaiming the actions of governments of other countries - notably Germany's renewable energy system. Klein is not a Marxist, and it is on this point that this reader finds fault with her analysis. She is reluctant to mention the "s" word - socialism. Instead she develops an argument based on "fixing the system", "evolution" etc. and it leads her analysis into all sorts of vagueness and contradictions. Having said that, she is a fine researcher and compiler of working class events. This book is a clear and important introduction to anyone wanting to learn more about how capitalism, climate change, the far-right, and racism is destroying societies across the world, and some basic ideas (though, as I say vague and incomplete) on how we can fight against fsuch threats.
