There is a chapter of World War II history that remains largely untold: the story of the fourth largest Allied military of the war, and the only nation to have fought in the battles of Leningrad, Arnhem, Tobruk, and Normandy.

This is the story of the Polish forces during the Second World War, the story of millions of young men and women who gave everything for freedom and in the final victory lost all. In a cruel twist of history, the monumental struggles of an entire nation have been largely forgotten, and even intentionally obscured.

No Greater Ally redresses the balance, giving a comprehensive overview of Poland's participation in World War II. Following their valiant but doomed defense of Poland in 1939, members of the Polish armed forces fought with the Allies wherever and however they could. This title provides a detailed analysis of the devastation the war brought to Poland, and the final betrayal when, having fought for freedom for six long years, Poland was handed to the Soviet Union.

Amazing Forgotten History

This is a story that needed to be told. The Polish accomplishments that were purposely hidden by its allies, especially the British and Americans, along with the atrocities by the Nazis and the Russians.

Polish Tragedy

This book was so incredibly informative. Learning that Poland was not steamrolled by the nazis and held their own so fiercely that it took France & England hanging them out to dry AND Russia invading Poland from the eastern side to finally defeat them. The Polish Air-force was incredibly, the ground army was relentless, and both were highly decorated and revered by their fellow soldiers. The horror that the Polish people endured by the hands of the Nazis and Russians was heartbreaking and unforgivable. I’ve never been prouder to be Polish.

Eye opening and awesome

A detailed accounting of Poland’s overlooked and misperceived military contribution to the Allies’ victory in North Africa, Italy, and Europe (Western and Eastern). Well researched and presented.

Must read for students of WWII
