Terrific debut novel
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I hope to hear more from Adam Popescu. Perhaps he wil Travel and Write in the tradition of James Michener. In any case, this is an entertaining and thoughtful story about a culture and very different from when we are exposed to. I have mixed feelings because I am interested in these people but wish that the Western world would leave them alone. We don’t need to invade every part of the world to satisfy our own curiosity.
Popescu touches on this selfishness by Westerners in the novel without belaboring the point. It was a lovely story of a young girl and her search for self.
A reader makes all the difference for me. I have returned books because of the reader. I am happy to say that Elizabeth Rogers does a fine job.
I highly recommend this book If you like the synopsis and the type of story, you will not be disappointed.
