For 16-year-old Rose, her family moving from Chicago to a small town in Colorado is the worst thing that can happen. She's not like other 16-year-olds, and the city life was the life she wanted. She's the type to read books instead of going out, and she can't imagine life in Bloomfield Valley, surrounded by mountains, no matter how much her parents tell her they are moving to find a better life.

Something is very wrong with Bloomfield. A town with a secret that stretches back decades to the final days of World War II. Rose is determined to find out what it is, but will she and her family be able to survive the horror of what they learn?
