The Maracot Deep (titolo originale) è un breve romanzo pubblicato nel 1929 dallo scrittore passato alla storia come il creatore di Sherlock Holmes. Due anni dopo il suo ultimo romanzo su Holmes, e aver finito di esprimere la sua passione per l’analisi razinale, Conan Doyle, già vicino alla spiritualità, decise di esprimerla anche nei suoi romanzi.
In questo racconto egli prende spunto dalla città perduta di Atlantide per riflettere su quello che, si dice, abbia portato quella grande civiltà alla catastrofe: una grande decadenza in cui le forze del Male avrebbero prevalso, e si sarebbero quindi attratte una giusta distruzione.
Anche se, nella descrizione della città sommersa, c’è più fantasia che fantascienza, pure il fenomeno della proiezione del pensiero è assolutamente ben accetto anche ai lettori di fantascienza di quasi un secolo dopo.

Great Book, I would like more....
It is a complete book. I don't know the paperbook. So I cannot say if its like to original book, of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. But I can say, that it is very entertaining, and you never have the feeling that something is missing. Very enjoying the voice of Mrs. Cecchini. The story is what I expected. I am very satisfied, and happy to find it narrated in italian language.
