Resumen del Editor

Neccabashar has fallen so low: he's lost his seat on the Evil Council. He's also had to give up his bachelor pad on Volcano Plaza and has moved in with mother. He's been forced to take a job working in the Pits and can barely afford horse treats for Torment.

But never fear. Our Demon friend has a plot to regain his seat on the Evil Council.

Even funnier than book 1!

You can really see and follow how the characters grow and develop even further in this second part. Dialogue is snappy and hilarious! I really enjoyed the new adventures of Neccabashar. We get to sympathize with him and learn that demons experience similar struggles to ours.

A new female character enters the plot in this second part. She is the complete opposite of Neccabashar. They meet and it turns into a very interesting interaction.

Couple this with the fantastic narration of Hannibal Hills and you are in for a treat!

Hilarious

Neccabashar 2.. Not my usual type of read/listen, But I found this book so funny in places. Irreverent and humorous it keeps you turning pages.
Great narration he is undoubtedly the glue that holds the story together.
Great entertainment.

Humorous Take On Demon Life

This was a lot of fun, taking a different look at demons as just another parallel world with similar issues and the fact that not everything that happens is as extreme as we as humans might consider it. Our main character loses a good job, moves in with his mom, and works in a terrible dead end situation. We can all sympathize because these are things that are real to us and it frames the demons in similar light. The story is his fight to return to prominence, as well as the machinations of the characters around him and it's definitely entertaining.

Hannibal Hills has become one of my favorite narrators. I've heard him on a couple of pretty horrific stories and he was solid and it's nice to see he can handle more of a humorous demonic melodrama.

Fun in Hell

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is the second book in the Neccabashar series. It is a standalone book with a complete ending. You can certainly start with this book but to really get a flavor of Neccabashar and his world, I would suggest you start with the first book.

On its surface, this seems to be a battle of good v. evil - the demon v. the angel battling for a man's soul but - it's so much more - at times it's very funny, at times it's philosophical, and at times it's a very shrewd commentary on our world. I love this character - who is not just a one-dimensional embodiment of evil. There is good in Neccabashar as he befriends the angel and the man whose soul he is trying to steal but it is good to remember, he is still a demon To add to the chaos, Cupid is flying around causing trouble and Neccabashar's well-connected Mum is pulling strings to help her son.

The narrator, Hannibal Hills, has become one of my favorite narrators. With his tongue firmly planted in his cheek and voices for all the creatures, both good and bad, he delivers a wonderful narration which is great fun!

Neccabashar 2

I loved this book!It was just as much fun as book 1.Neccabashar has been kicked off the council and lost his cool apartment. He is living with his mother. His job is crappy, his life is crappy. He hatches a plot, with an Angel. The twists and turns come fast in this one,so hold on! Hannibal Hills was excellent,as usual,as Neccabashar and his co horts. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

I’ll write a headline when I stop chuckling

This is the second book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I’ve really enjoyed both books. I like the sarcastic, dry humor.
He’s created a world where the demons and angels are just being trying to get through daily life with many of the same issues and concerns as each other and humans. Like...dealing with an arrogant boss, having a bad hair day, systems falling short of providing the service they’re supposed to, wearing your best pants only to get splashed with mud. The government departments and titles crack me up - department of indiscretion, minister of pain, minister financial ruin, director of disease, and director boredom.
Neccabashar seems to get himself into or forced into situations that look like he’ll never get out of. Through quick thinking and manipulation however, he just squeaks by. This time he’s offered a chance to redeem himself a bit and get out of his punishment of working in the Pits. All he has to do is turn a prolific author to their side so he’ll convince many others to follow him, thus gaining more souls for Hell. Problem is, a newly graduated angel has been tasked to sway the author to their side. The resulting interactions are hilarious

This is the fourth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Hannibal Hills ).
I’ve enjoyed every book so far. He does a fantastic job drawing me into the books he narrates. This book was no exception. He does the sarcasm well and I could not imagine anyone else being Neccabashar. His female voices and other character voices are distinct and appropriate.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

Fun and Endearing

A high-achieving angel and struggling demon vie for the soul of an author--and so much more in this Renaissance-inspired world. The story and characters are at once both hilarious and touching, and the narrator is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this book and the first in the series.
