People resist change. Normal is comfortable.
With Labour winning the general election, a new Prime Minister takes centre stage, a man with very different values to the outgoing leader. For him, the military and everything close to them are just his new toys, to be used as and when he wishes.
In Whitehall, the new Director of Special Forces is a man who likes his sherbets, who has no personal experience of elite soldiering. For him it’s all about who you know, not what you know. Anything for an easy life.
For Alex Green and his young family this all becomes too much, and he resigns his commission, returns to his adopted South Africa.
His lazy days won’t last long.
Storm clouds are building fast in the Middle East. Israel and Iran, two old arch enemies, are flexing their muscles, testing the waters. With the region on the brink of nuclear war, can Alex be persuaded to return to the action? And even if he does, can he find a way to stop the unthinkable?
The Nuclear Button is about to be pressed.

Twists and turns all the way to the very end.

Anti-climactic ending

Overall a very good story. AI mispronounced several words which is irritating. Not my kind of ending, personally, so was a little disappointed.
