After viewing the summer solstice at sunset from Oregon's Larch Mountain in the mid-1990s, amateur sleuths John and Sara Todd are run off the road while navigating the scenic highway. The driver, barreling down a long gravel driveway from an abandoned sawmill, doesn't stop.
John and Sara wonder—why didn't he stop? Who owns this property? What was he doing up there?
As they track down the person who wrecked their car, they stumble into a case of illegal dumping of toxic waste and a desperate business owner. The Todds stay a step ahead of the DEQ, local police, and FBI, but as they put together the missing pieces, they find themselves dead center in the crosshairs of a man with nothing to lose.
Book three in the John and Sara Todd Mysteries finds our amateur sleuths at the dark intersection of a cynical CEO trying to sell his company, a con man, and toxic waste. This is the final book in the series. Will they survive?
